Catalina Figueroa Fernández (born 28 January 2005) is a Chilean footballer who plays as a defender for Universidad Católica [es] and the Chile women's national team.
Club career
[edit]A product of the women's team of Universidad Católica, Figueroa officially joined the first team in the 2021 season.[2] She and her teammate Millaray Cortés were the first players to sign a professional contract with the club on 1 February 2022.[3] She became the team captain.[4]
International career
[edit]In 2022, Figueroa represented Chile U17 in both the South American Championship[5] and the FIFA World Cup,[6] becoming the team captain.[7][8] She also represented the under-20's in the South American Championship[9] and friendlies against Costa Rica.[10]
At senior level, she received her first call-up in February 2022 for the friendly against Ecuador.[10] The next year, she made her debut in a 0–4 loss against Argentina on 17 February 2023.[11] She made a second appearance in a 0–4 loss against Brazil on 2 July of the same year.[12]
